The CANADIAN STORIES literary folk magazine is pleased to offer the 3rd Contest for Short Stories and Poetry including for the first time Black and White Art.

DEADLINE: May 1, 2009. Notifications no later than June 15, 2009.
Awards presented on August 15, 2009 at the 4th CANADIAN STORIES convention in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia or sent to submitter by Canada Post.
COST: Each entry must include a $15 cheque made out to CANADIAN STORIES.
This money is not refundable. Notification with SASE card. Return of original only with SASE. Material with uncouth language will be returned without judging.
RULES: All entries must follow the author’s guidelines outlined in www.canadianstories.net Length cannot exceed 2000 words for fiction and non-fiction.
Poetry is limited to 3 poems or 3 pages. Art must be presented on 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper.
The subject of the Art should be suitable for publication in CANADIAN STORIES.
All entries must be original unpublished typewritten material. Authors retain copyright. Winners will be published in the August 1, 2009 issue of CANADIAN STORIES.

All entries must specify which category the submitter has selected. Name, address, phone number and E-mail address (if available) must be provided on a cover sheet. Submitted material to be judged should have no identification for blind judging. Entries must be written by the author identified.
